End of life guidelines
This section contains guidelines for use by clinicians involved in symptom control for patients. There is guidance on:
- pain relief including conversion from one analgesic to another
- control of other symptoms that may be distressing in the terminal phase of illness such as agitation and nausea/vomiting.
The guidance has been developed and approved by specialists and generalists working within the Pan Birmingham area. It is in accordance with the West Midlands group and national guidelines, and is reviewed every three years (or more frequently as appropriate). Any feedback would be welcome, you can contact us via the 'Contact Us' button above.
