Intimacy & sexuality for cancer patients and their partners
As many as 50% of all cancer patients suffer sexual difficulties as a consequence of their treatments. Professionals frequently identify a lack of resources and information on specific advice to give to patients as a key stumbling block to addressing patients needs in this sensitive area.
To begin to fill this unmet need, a group of cancer professionals with a vareity of backgrounds from Pan Birmingham and beyond have developed a booklet with practical tips and advice for helping couples overcome sexual difficulties after cancer. While primarily aimed at cancer patients and their partners, the booklet contains many relevant pointers and resources that would be helpful for working with sexual dysfunctions outside of the oncology field.
To obtain copies of the booklet for your practice, please click here. Please note that the booklet is also available for download from the sexual advice association (formerly known as sexual dysfunction association). Patients can be directed to this site where they will also be able to request a hard copy of the booklet.
